Schedule: 30 to 34 Hours Weekly
Tuesday - Thursday: 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM,
Friday - Saturday: 9:30 AM - 2:30 PM
Evening hours are fixed and required
Pay Rate: $22/hr, Post 6-Month Probation $23 - $24/hr
The Richmond Art Center is expanding their Education team and looking for our next Studio Art Coordinator. The Studio Art Coordinator manages programs in RAC’s Studios, including operations, resources, and infrastructure. Expertise in one or more mediums (e.g., textiles, glass, printmaking, or metalsmithing) is required, along with collaboration skills to enhance the Studios and serve the community sustainably. Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to: Welcoming and supporting students and teachers arriving for classes, managing studio tasks (projects, inventory, maintenance, PPE), overseeing open studio sessions, after-hours registrations, clay sales, and locker sales.
Core Responsibilities
Studio Facility Operations:
Serve as the primary evening contact for operations, services, and safety.
Set-up/prepare studios for programs including AV equipment, table setup, and seating) including any reasonable accommodations or ADA requests.
Manage studio safety policies, equipment tracking, and repairs.
Develop resources for studio best practices and safety protocols.
Studio Art Programs Administration:
Collaborate to hire teaching artists and community partners aligned with RAC’s mission.
Communicate with staff and volunteers, providing updates and enrollment rosters.
Coordinate approved purchases for class and workshop materials.
Oversee program scheduling, planning, and evaluations.
Maintain studio calendars and reservations.
Public Programs & Events:
Support planning and implementation of RAC public programs, exhibitions, and annual events.
