YOUTH HIP-HOP DANCE TEACHER, ages 5-7
Required teaching hours: Tuesdays, 3:45-4:30pm at Shawl-Anderson Dance Center, 2704 Alcatraz Ave, Berkeley.
Semester Dates: Monday, August 22 - Saturday, December 17 (No classes Mon, Sept 5 / Nov 21-27)
SADC is seeking a Hip-Hop Teacher who can help students develop locomotor movement that will lead them into different Hip-Hop dance forms such as Breaking, Popping, & Boogaloo. Candidates should have a background in one or more of these forms. Teachers should be skilled in using improvisation, activities and other creative approaches beyond basic technique in order to serve a range of learning styles and modalities. At SADC, teachers bring in and develop their own curriculum while also making sure students leave with a baseline knowledge of the dance form.
